Is this Scrabble word finder legal to use during a game?
Official Scrabble and tournament rules only prohibit word finders during rated, sanctioned play. For casual games with friends and family, most players agree to use tools like this only after a word is challenged, or purely to settle disputes and learn new words. Check with your group before a game starts.
Does this use the same word list as the Scrabble app?
We use the ENABLE word list, a public-domain dictionary of 172,000+ words. It overlaps heavily with the Scrabble tournament word lists (TWL and Collins) but isn't identical — a small number of words may be valid in one list and not another. When in doubt, check your specific edition's official dictionary.
How do I use a blank tile in the word finder?
Enter a question mark (?) or a space in place of the blank when typing your rack letters. The solver treats it as a wildcard and tries every possible letter, then shows you the highest-scoring word for each valid combination.
Why are some high-scoring words not showing up?
The word finder only returns words that can be formed from exactly the letters you entered (plus any board pattern constraints). If a word isn't appearing, double check your rack letters are correct and that any board pattern underscores match open board positions accurately.
What is Words With Friends compatibility like?
Words With Friends uses its own dictionary (the WWF wordlist), which is different from the ENABLE/Scrabble lists. Most common words overlap, but for competitive WWF play, verify unusual words against the in-app dictionary before playing them.
How are the Scrabble point values calculated?
We use standard North American Scrabble letter values: 1 point for A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R; 2 for D, G; 3 for B, C, M, P; 4 for F, H, V, W, Y; 5 for K; 8 for J, X; and 10 for Q, Z. Blank tiles score 0 regardless of the letter they represent.
